Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc.
Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc. is a leading company in the business of traditional and digital cinema services.
By focusing on both theatrical and home entertainment, Deluxe sets up complete digital workflow solutions for such major motion-picture groups as The Walt Disney Company, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., Lionsgate, The Weinstein Company, and Sony Pictures.
The company was founded in 1915 by William Fox, when he created the Fox Film Corporation in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
In 1919 Fox Film Corporation opened its studio in Hollywood at Sunset and Western. The first Deluxe film laboratory was built on the south side of the lot (Fernwood and Serrano), where it still operates today. The original plant consisting of one building with processing and printing operations has expanded to a high capacity manufacturing plant that is one of several film labs worldwide.
The company principally operates in three business segments: Film Labs, Creative Services, and Film Distribution.
Film Labs is one of the largest processors of 35 mm film for the motion-picture industry, working with a number of Hollywood studios.
Creative Services assists the global DVD industry in motion-picture post-production, including such services as digital intermediate, compression, encoding, authoring, subtitling. This segment also distributes motion-picture-related marketing materials and provides several digital-distribution and asset-management products and services.
Film Distribution attends to the theatrical distribution of prints and trailers.
At present, Deluxe is a wholly owned subsidiary of MacAndrews and Forbes Holdings Inc.
